Carrier Corporation recently selected Power Systems & Controls to provide Hybrid Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to protect their most critical operations. Carrier Corporation was founded in 1915 by a group of (6) Engineers and is based in Farmington, Connecticut. Carrier is a manufacturer of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as, commercial refrigeration and food service equipment industry.

Carrier is a $12.5 billion company with over 43,000 employees around the world. PS&C Series Continuum Static UPS

 

The Series Continuum is the latest Solid-State power quality product from Power Systems & Controls. The Series Continuum is a static (solid-state) Uninterruptible Power Supply designed to handle the most critical loads in the most severe environments. This is the culmination of a two year research and development effort by PS&C Engineering to offer the best IGBT/IGBT transformer-less static UPS (SUPS) in the industry. We at PS&C truly feel the Series Continuum will reinvent the way all Solid-State UPS systems of the future will be constructed.

The Series Continuum UPS incorporates the latest technology in solid-state PWM inverter and PWM rectifier/charger controls combined with the use of an all IGBT topology for most efficient double conversion process. This advancement in digital technology gives the PS&C Continuum a great advantage over other typical UPS systems. We have not used older technology (Diodes & SCR’s) on the front end in order to reduce cost. With an incredible input range reaching further, this UPS system will support equipment in the most extreme electrical conditions.

Power Systems & Controls is proud to announce that we will be supporting Ecogreen Oleochemicals’ mission critical operations in Singapore. Founded in 1990, Ecogreen Oleochemicals is one of the leading producers of Natural Fatty Alcohols in the world. Ecogreen Oleochemicals has facilities in Indonesia, Singapore, Germany, and the United States.

Ecogreen Oleochemicals (Singapore) Pte Ltd. offers short chain fatty acids, glycerin, sugar and unsaturated fatty alcohols, primary fatty amines, specialty esters, and alcohol ethoxylates. Its products are used in detergents, shampoos, bath gels, personal care products, and antioxidants; cosmetics, textile and leather auxiliaries, and wetting agents; nutrition and diabetic products; and flotation agents, anti-caking agents, corrosion inhibitors, dispersants, emulsifiers, fungicides, and bactericides. It exports its products to the Asia Pacific, the United States, Latin America, and Europe.

Paris Air Show 2005

                                                             

Power Systems & Controls will be travelling to International Paris Air Show 2005 at Le Bourget Airport in Paris France from June 13 – June 19, 2005. The Paris Air Show claims to be the world’s oldest air show seeing as it was first established in 1909. The airshow is an important event in the international aerospace and defense industry calendar, providing an opportunity to demonstrate civilian and military aircraft to potential customers and investors. The Paris event starts with four professional days closed to the general public. It then opens to the public from Friday to Sunday. The event is held every two years at the same airfield that Charles Lindbergh landed after the first solo transatlantic flight.

New Advanced Fiber Optics

 

Power Systems & Controls has embraced the new trend of fiber optics, and has started incorporating this exciting new technology into our power quality systems. The speed and flexibility in system communication permitted by fiber optics is truly amazing. This is why PS&C is offering two new models of our Series RMC, Remote Monitor & Control. The original version was only available in analog; however, we now offer a complete digital version, as well as, a fiber optic model.

The digital version is the same as the original analog version, except it utilizes digital meters. The fiber version is a fiber optic communicating unit with a touch screen interface based on a PLC platform to achieve the 100% electrical isolation required for the unit. This model will also collect and transmit full system telemetry back to the remote location for the diesel generator, UPS, AVR, fuel tank, pump, and breaker position as a minimum. This just goes to show the great things that can happen when you embrace change as new technologies appear to be emerging each and every day.

Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren

                                                                

Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren is a division of the United States Naval Surface Warfare Centers. It was established in 1918 and is located in Dahlgren, Virginia.

Power Systems & Controls will be supply rotary frequency converters in support of operations at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren. Due to the sensitive nature of their operations, we are unable to provide any additional information at this time.
