50Hz  power is the predominant frequency in the world outside North and Central America.  However, due to worldwide sourcing, 50Hz & 60Hz power has become an interchangeable commodity and as such, there is a greater need for 50Hz frequency conversion.  Whether you use 50Hz, 60Hz or 400Hz, Power Systems & Controls can support the conversion with both rotary or solid state solutions.  There are 2 typical differences in the power from 50Hz to 60Hz, the voltage and the cycles per second (Hz).  The great thing about PS&C frequency converters are that our systems simultaneously convert both the voltage and frequency (Hertz/Hz).

What is 50Hz Frequency?

A 50Hz electrical system means that it does 50 cycles of frequencies per second while 60Hz means that it completes 60 cycles per second. 50Hz is usually associated with 415, 400, & 380 voltages. Due to the evolution of power/electricity across the world, 60Hz is typically found in the United States with 50Hz being the standard in Europe, South America, Etc. However, there are exceptions to every rule. For instance, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia they utilize 380V, 60Hz.
