PS&C Laser Communication Protection

The Series LCP is a Laser Communication Protection module developed by Power Systems & Controls. The Series LCP is utilized to protect communication between buildings and/or stations with not only surge protection, but also an “on-line” UPS system. This harsh environment unit has been designed in support of the “mission critical” USG or DOD customer.

PS&C’s Series LCP can operate in the most remote locations in the world where the power can move around the single phase 120V numerous times within a hour. As an option, the Series LCP takes an input of (220-240) voltage at 50Hz or 60Hz power and will deliver clean isolated 120V, single phase, 50 or 60Hz output. The standard output is achieved via 3 hospital grade duplex outlets and an isolated ground. The unit further protects the load by means of an input TVSS for the power and Ethernet/phone.

PS&C also equips the Series LCP with the capability of “Hot Start” directly from the battery in order to give the user a few minutes of power when no source power is available. Power Systems & Controls is excited to offer this new system to our USG and DOD customers & clients.

PS&C Protects Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens recently decided to purchase PS&C static Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems to support their amusement park operations. The Continuum UPS systems will be less than 100kVA, and will be used throughout the park. Busch Gardens was initially developed as a marketing vehicle for Anheuser-Busch and featured hospitality houses with samples of Anheuser-Busch products. They also included stables that housed many of the company’s Clydesdale horses, which have been associated with Anheuser-Busch since 1933.

Eventually, rides and attractions were added to the park and over time the park was developed into full theme park while still promoting Anheuser-Busch. Busch Entertainment Corporation, now called SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, was created as a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch Companies to run the various parks in 1959. Power Systems & Controls looks forward to supporting another Virginia corporation, and we can’t wait to visit the park this summer!

PS&C – Don’t Be Left In The Dark

PS&C Continuum Static UPS

The Series Continuum is the latest Solid-State power quality product from Power Systems & Controls. The Series Continuum is a static (solid-state) Uninterruptible Power Supply designed to handle the most critical loads in the most severe environments. This is the culmination of a two year research and development effort by PS&C Engineering to offer the best IGBT/IGBT transformer-less static UPS (SUPS) in the industry. We at PS&C truly feel the Series Continuum will reinvent the way all Solid-State UPS systems of the future will be constructed.

The Series Continuum UPS incorporates the latest technology in solid-state PWM inverter and PWM rectifier/charger controls combined with the use of an all IGBT topology for most efficient double conversion process. This advancement in digital technology gives the PS&C Continuum a great advantage over other typical UPS systems. We have not used older technology (Diodes & SCR’s) on the front end in order to reduce cost. With an incredible input range reaching further, this UPS system will support equipment in the most extreme electrical conditions.
