PS&C Acquires Traffic Safety Systems – VASCAR

                                                            

Power Systems & Controls is proud to announce the acquisition of Traffic Safety Systems, Inc. Traffic Safety Systems is a Virginia corporation, formed in 1971 for the purpose of developing and marketing various traffic and highway safety devices. In 1976, Traffic Safety Systems developed and began marketing the VASCAR-plus, an improvement on the original VASCAR.

Traffic Safety Systems soon contacted Power Systems & Controls to produce prototype models of the new VASCAR-plus. PS&C has since been heavily involved in the production and engineering of VASCAR-plus® systems and after this acquisition will be the sole manufacturer of VASCAR-plus® speed enforcement computer systems. The latest in VASCAR technology, the VASCAR-plus® III will complete the family of “Time Distance” devices. Currently over 30 states and several countries use VASCAR to support their speed enforcement laws.

Power Systems & Controls has moved to a new location at 3206 Lanvale Ave, Richmond, VA. The facility is a two-story building and adjoining manufacturing area with more than 60,000 square feet under roof. Power service consists of a 1,500kVA utility feed and an independent 3,000kW generator plant. The utility service is coupled with all the necessary switch gear, load banks, and controls to fully manufacture and test all PS&C products. Material handling facilities include overhead cranes and lift vehicles with a combined capacity of 30 tons giving us much more flexibility in supporting our customer and clients in the future.

PS&C Supports McDonnell Douglas

                                                 

McDonnell Douglas is a large American defense contractor specializing in aerospace manufacturing. It was established in 1976 with the merger of McDonnell Aircraft and Douglas Aircraft Company. 

Power Systems & Controls was selected by McDonnell Douglas to provide rotary uninterruptible power supply systems to protect one their critical helicopter facilities. Due to the sensitive nature of their operations, we are unable to provide any additional information at this time.

Henry Ford Hospitals is a comprehensive non-profit hospital system in Detroit, Michigan. Henry Ford founded the medical system in 1915 to help the people of Detroit. They treat thousands of patients a year and are committed to providing the best care possible for their patients.

Power Systems & Controls will be providing 415Hz rotary frequency converters to Henry Ford Hospital’s Headquarters.  They selected PS&C to power their mainframe computers because of our system’s long equipment life cycle, electrical isolation and the superior presentation put on by out partners in the Michigan area. The United States Geological Survey is an agency within the the U.S. Department of the Interior. They study and catalog the landscape of the U.S., natural resources and any natural dangers that could materialize and possibly pose a danger. The agency was founded in 1879 and is headquartered outside of Washington D.C.

Power Systems & Controls was awarded a contract to supply rotary uninterruptible power supply systems to protect some of their research equipment. The U.S. Geological Survey choose PS&C rotary UPS systems because of their familiarity with the system, its electrical isolation and the close proximity between Reston, VA and Richmond, VA. We look forward to supporting their operations and adding another agency to our growing list of satisfied PS&C USG customers.
