POWER CONDITIONING
PS&C has developed unique solutions in filling the need for Power Conditioning systems. We have developed three(3) different models to handle the requirement. Each system has been designed to fit the need as opposed to "force fitting" one machine into 3 different applications;
The Solutions are as follows;
Isolation Motor Generator - Series MG
Industrial Motor Generator - Series IMG
Ride-Thru Industrial Motor Generator - Series IMG-RT
Lets look at these systems a little closer. The Series MG is a very precise Motor Generator utilizing a Synchronous Motor and Synchronous Generator with twin excitation systems for system performance. This is the "weapon of choice" when you system is dependent on Mission Critical Isolated Power at either 50.0 Hz or 60.0 Hz. There is no slip rate, no loose regulation, and no utility noise is seen on the load side of this 100% isolated Motor Generator System. The controls are mostly digital I/O with system detection utilizing a PS&C heartbeat monitor on the detection circuitry. Now lets take a look at the Brute Force in Power Conditioners. The Series IMG and Series IMG-RT are Induction Motor driven Synchronous Generators that get the job done. The machines are designed to take a beating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. They have been designed to keep the inrush current down while still delivering the isolated load power needed for the task. The difference is these machines will operate slightly above and below synchronous speed or in other words will deliver 59.7 to 60.3 Hz for a 60 Hz system and respectfully the same for the 50 Hz systems. In today's power, switch mode power supplies can easily handle the slight difference in input power. As for the RT in IMG-RT, this is an integral Flywheel on the common shaft to deliver up to 5 seconds of ride-thru. This machine has become a dominating force in the battle against sags and surges delivered from the utility.
