Department of Defense
The Defense General Supply Center (DGSC) (Now DLA, Defense Logistics Agency) in Richmond, VA has the huge task of supplying the military with its necessities. Their inventory includes the basics such as clothing and medical supplies plus industrial, construction, and electronic equipmentDGSC manages this enormous responsibility with a sophisticated, computerized tracking system that is connected directly to their military customers. This revolutionary system provides real time data allowing the DGSC to analyze and respond quickly to their customer's needs. This sophisticated operation cannot afford to have electrical power interrupted, which is why they originally purchased PS&C UPS systems to protect their operations in 1979.

When base supply telecommunications underwent electrical renovation, DGSC again partnered with Power Systems & Controls to supply their critical protection needs.  Due to its experience with PS&C's reliable power protection, DGSC felt PS&C was the perfect choice.  Along with subcontractor, Lord Electric, PS&C engineers took on the task of designing a system that would not only protect DGSC's critical load, but one that would work within their facility's existing infrastructure, which meant all of this had to be done without interfering with DGSC's daily operations

Teamwork was the key to getting this job done.  From the design and manufacture of the Rotary UPS systems to the careful installation and start-up, protection of DGSC's critical load was the #1 priority. With the successful cooperation of everyone involved, the job was completed under budget and ahead of schedule.
