Power Systems & Controls has won a contract to provide Motor Generator Sets in Shariki, Japan for the MDA. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is a research, development, and acquisition agency within the Department of Defense.  Their workforce includes government civilians, military service members, and contractor personnel in multiple locations across the United States.

As they develop, test, and field an integrated Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), the MDA works closely with the Combatant Commanders (e.g. Pacific Command, Northern Command, etc.) who will rely on the system to protect the United States, our forward deployed forces, and our friends and allies from hostile ballistic missile attack.  They work with the Combatant Commanders to ensure that we develop a robust BMDS technology and development program to address the challenges of an evolving threat.

The project involved providing a 1625kVA system, as well as, a 875kVA Motor Generator system and all associated controls. The systems were to be housed in Modified Containers, in order to protect the systems from the elements and allow for easier transportation and installation. The customized Equipment Containers for the project were also provided by Power Systems & Controls. They consisted of a modified 40' low cube container, a modified 20' high cube container, and 30' x 24' stick built enclosures. We look forward to working with MDA, and can't wait to mark Japan off our list of international landmarks.
